Free Standing Collapsable Market Shelf Plans | FREE
Hello hello hello!
Last week I added a NEW market stand to my setup and I am in LOVE with it! Not only is it collapsable, it’s also fully customizable in terms of how long you want it to be based on your available space. For example say you have 4 ft available at one market, you can use 4 ft shelves, and then the next week you have 8 ft available, you can use 8 ft boards.
This may be a tad confusing but stay with me and you will soon see what I mean! For these steps we will be making a shelf 4ft long.
In order to create these shelves I used the following materials:
8 – 1×4 @ 8ft
2 – 2×10 @ 8ft
4 – 4″ hinges + hardware (can be substituted for a similar size)
1″ Wood Screws
You will also need a drill, and a saw.
Now that you have your materials gathered. We are going to cut everything to length (refer to the image above if you have questions)
We will be cutting the 1x4s into 3 pieces, first mark 60″ from one end, and 18″ from the other end. You will have 18″ remaining. Do this with all 8 of the 1x4s. Then take the 2x10s and cut them directly in half to 48″.
Once all of the lumber is cut to length we will be assembling our “ladder” ends before connecting them in pairs with the hinges. Refer to the diagram below for the measurements of the placement. Our shelves are 14″ apart.
Next up we will be attaching the hinges. I attached mine in line with the top and bottom shelf as show in the diagram below.
Once this is complete for both sets of ladder ends you will have all of the pieces assembled!
As I said above this shelf can be expanded (can be downsized to 36″ shelves but that is the smallest) or customized to meet your needs. I plan on having a set of 48″ shelves and 72″ shelves so that I can swap them out as needed!
Your shelf is now complete and you are ready to take it to your next event! If you wanted to paint or stain it to fit in with your branding feel free.
